Refund policy

Return and Refund Policy

Thank you for choosing Canoe Wild Rice. As a fourth-generation family business, we take great pride in the quality of our Minnesota-harvested wild rice. Because we deal with food products, our policy is designed to ensure the safety and health of all our customers.

Perishable Goods (Food Safety)
Due to food safety regulations and the nature of our products, all wild rice sales (canned, boxed, or bagged) are final. We cannot accept returns on food items once they have left our facility in Aitkin, MN. This ensures that the purity and "Clean Label" standards of our rice are never compromised.

Damages and Issues
Please inspect your order upon reception. If you receive a damaged item (e.g., a heavily dented 107oz can or a torn poly-bag) or the wrong item, contact us immediately at info@canoewildrice.com so we can evaluate the issue.

  • Claims Window: You must report damages within 7 days of delivery.
  • Evidence: Please include photos of the damaged packaging and the product labels to help us improve our quality control data.

Refunds and Replacements
If your claim for a damaged or incorrect item is approved, we will:

  • Replace the item at no additional cost to you (shipping included); or
  • Refund the purchase price to your original payment method.

Please note: It can take 5–10 business days for your bank or credit card company to process and post the refund.

Shipping Exclusions

  • Incorrect Addresses: We are not responsible for orders shipped to an incorrect address provided by the customer. Please double-check your shipping data at checkout.
  • Refused Shipments: If a shipment is refused upon delivery for reasons other than damage, a 15% restocking fee plus the cost of original shipping will be deducted from any potential refund.

Non-Returnable Items
In addition to food products, we do not accept returns on:

  • Sale/Clearance Items
  • Bulk/Wholesale orders (unless damaged in transit)
